Turkish Red Cresent Sends Assistance To Moldova

Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) has sent humanitarian relief items to Moldova that was hit by heavy rain and storm.

Turkish Red Crescent Deputy Director General Ahmet Lutfi Akar said on Monday that 40,000 people left homeless and 42 people lost their lives because of torrential rains and ensuing flood in some regions of Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Moldova and Hungary.

Akar said, "Turkish Red Crescent, leading aid organization in its region, sent four trucks of food, beds, blankets, soap, and kitchen equipment taking into consideration the requests for help from the region."
